Local Video Crew in Helsinki – Behind the Scenes of an International Production

Two cameras, a small crew and a half-day shoot in the heart of Helsinki. Here’s how we helped a US-based production team capture customer testimonial footage without flying their own crew to Finland.
Planning the shoot from across the Atlantic
Our assignment was to film customer testimonial interviews and capture some additional B-roll footage of the office and its people. The US based post-production team would handle the editing.
Before the shoot, we had a video call to go through the details. Everything from interview questions and schedules to camera settings, frame rates, recording codecs and the overall visual style. We make sure everything's in line with the client's needs.
When you’re filming for a production team thousands of kilometres away, it’s worth getting these things right beforehand.
Two cameras, a local crew and an office in Helsinki
We arrived at the office before the interviewees to get everything ready. We always want to have the cameras, lighting and audio set up so the interviews could begin without unnecessary waiting.
We used two cameras for the interviews, along with a compact lighting and audio setup. The goal was to keep things efficient without compromising the quality of the footage.
After the interviews, we moved on to filming B-roll around the office.
This is where things got interesting.
The client wanted the footage to give a sense of a busy, international company. The office itself looked great, but there were only five people available for filming.
Not exactly a packed office.
So we got creative with camera angles, moved people between different areas and filmed a variety of everyday office situations. The challenge was making everything look natural while giving the space a little more life on camera.

From Helsinki to the US in 24 hours
Once filming was finished, we packed up our equipment and prepared the footage for delivery.
All material was uploaded to the client’s cloud storage within 24 hours, along with the required production information for their editing team.
Our job was done, and their post-production team could take it from there.
We later received some nice feedback through our contact:
“I just confirmed with our team that your work on the last project was excellent. So more of that, please, haha. Thanks again for all your help.”
Always good to hear!
